By dining with us or booking a reservation at Mandarin Thai Cuisine, 5 John Street, Oban, you agree to the following terms. We reserve the right to refuse service or remove any individual who does not comply.

1. Respect Our Team – We are a small, passionate team dedicated to giving every guest a wonderful dining experience. We ask that all guests communicate respectfully with our staff at all times. Shouting, cursing, insults, or aggressive behaviour will result in immediate removal from the premises. We operate a zero tolerance policy with no exceptions.

2. Reservations & Arrival – We are a small restaurant with only 22 covers, so we kindly ask that your full party is present before we seat you. We hold reservations for 15 minutes — arriving after this time may result in your table being released to walk-in guests. Online bookings are available from 4pm to 6pm only for parties of 2 to 4 people. After 6pm we operate on a walk-in basis only — no bookings online or by phone will be accepted after this time. Large groups are not workable for us, sorry. During peak hours a 90-minute maximum dining time applies and we kindly ask that guests vacate their table promptly when their time concludes. Please also note that we are unable to accommodate single diners or children between 5:30pm and 8:30pm.

3. Alcohol, Outside Items & Supervision – Mandarin Thai Cuisine is a fully licensed premises. If you wish to enjoy your own alcohol, we kindly suggest our takeaway menu. We strictly enforce licensing laws and reserve the right to refuse or cease alcohol service to any guest showing signs of intoxication. Outside food and drinks are not permitted on the premises. We ask that children remain seated at your table at all times — parents and guardians assume full responsibility for the safety and behaviour of their children.

4. Noise & Disruption – We aim to provide a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all our guests. Playing videos or music on speakerphone is not permitted — please use headphones. If your party is found to be disrupting the experience of other diners, you will be asked to leave.

5. Dietary Requirements & Allergies – We are a small kitchen and unfortunately cannot accommodate special dietary demands or heavily modified orders. We assume vegetarians are comfortable with fish sauce, oyster sauce, and eggs — please inform the kitchen if this is not the case. Vegan alternatives are available on request but must be discussed with the kitchen at the time of ordering. Please make our staff aware of any allergies before ordering. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. If allergies or dietary requirements are not clearly communicated to our staff prior to ordering, Mandarin Thai Cuisine cannot be held liable for any adverse reactions or consequences arising from the meal served.

6. Know Before You Dine – Our menu, pricing, and house rules are clearly available on our website at mandarinthai.food and in the restaurant. It is the guest’s responsibility to read and familiarise themselves with our offerings before visiting. Mandarin Thai Cuisine cannot be held responsible for any dissatisfaction arising from a failure to read or understand our menu, services, or policies prior to dining.

7. Refund Policy – We take great pride in the quality of our food and service. Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances — where a guest has ordered incorrectly or failed to read the menu properly before ordering, where a guest has not communicated dietary requirements or allergies to our staff prior to ordering, where a guest has been removed from the premises due to disrespectful or abusive behaviour after placing an order, or where a guest’s dissatisfaction arises from a personal preference rather than a fault on our part. If you have a genuine concern about your meal, please speak to a member of staff at the time of dining and we will do our best to resolve it.
